It’s finally here! The first teaser trailer for Star Trek: Into Darkness. And it starts on a rather dark note, with Benedict Cumberbatch telling us “You think your world is safe. It is an illusion.”
I’m as excited as the next Trekkie about the second J.J. Abrams Star Trek film. But in taking a look at the newly-released poster, I have to question exactly what the direction the film is going on.
I have been aware of this project for some time, but now it’s officially on Kickstarter and I promised I would blog about it as soon as that happened. A group of Star Trek fans have come together and somehow obtained the original Star Trek Enterprise D bridge that was created by Paramount Studios.

In lieu of my usual Web Series Wednesday, I have decided to showcase a Kickstarter project by Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Michael Dorn. Through The Fire is a romantic comedy that Dorn is wanting to produce that will feature himself, along with other Star Trek actors and he is funding it via Kickstarter.
Etsy is always full of awesome. I have a lot of friends who sell wonderful handmade goodies on there and I always come across some pretty awesome items, too. Yesterday, I came across these gorgeous hand-painted geek bras.
Just two months after Star Trek premiered on US television, sci-fi author Isaac Asimov wrote a piece for TV Guide complaining about the scientific inaccuracies found in the series. Gene Roddenberry, the show’s creator, wasn’t too pleased and wrote Asimov a response, detailing that getting Star Trek on t.v. had been a nearly impossible task.
