So web series Wednesday has grown into something else. Now I’m calling it On The Web Wednesday. This isn’t just for web series anymore, but for anything web-video related that catches my eye. This week, it’s a fan film about S.H.I.E.L.D.

It has already been reported that Joss Whedon was attached to a The Avengers-based television series by ABC, but now we have more information on that show. The show will be named S.H.I.E.L.D.

Joss Whedon returns for Avengers 2 and a possible Marvel t.v. series
Well, this is a relief. Joss Whedon will be returning to writing and directing the sequel to this summer’s big hit The Avengers. Honestly, I don’ t think anyone else could handle it. But even better? Whedon will be developing a Marvel-based series for ABC.

The Avengers has gone on to make over $700 million. So what does director Joss Whedon do? The right thing! Whedon turned to a Joss Whedon fansite, Whedonesque.com, and wrote a nice love note to his fans, those who have stuck by him throughout the years.

New Dr. Horrible coming soon?
Yes, I know Joss Whedon has been a little busy with this little movie called The Avengers and this other one called The Cabin in the Woods to be worried about a sequel to the hit web series Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog. But he’s still saying that the wait for the second part of Dr. Horrible’s story will be coming soon.

Avengers will show world through Captain America’s eyes
I must admit that I’m not entirely sold on The Avengers yet. I like the individual Iron Man and Captain America movies, but the idea of putting those two superheroes together plus more (including Scarlet Johanns0n, who still hasn’t convinced me she’s a good Black Widow) makes me rather uninterested.

This one has been shelved for awhile, and no one ever believed it might see the light of day. But fortunately for us, Joss Whedon’s Cabin In The Woods has been given a release date (April 13, 2012) and has an actual trailer to give us an idea of what it’s about.
