The thrilling tale of Harry Potter, one of the most beloved characters in recent literature, officially came to a close with the final book and movie… Or did it? Well, maybe the thrilling part did.
Premiering this Friday on July 20th, Furious Molecules new parody web series Harry Potter and the Ten Years Later takes a look at Harry and his friends ten years after taking down Voldemort. Obviously, things have changed. Harry is now unemployed. Ginny wants to have babies. Hermione is questioning her moral lifestyle and Ron is… well… he’s Ron. As always, though, trouble finds Harry again.

Web Series Wednesday: Harry Potter and the Ten Years Later Robin

Yes it’s Wednesday and that usually means that I post about a new and upcoming web series. However, instead, I would like to turn your attention back to a project I previously posted about: Auror’s Tale. Auror’s Tale is a fan-created series set in the Harry Potter universe with entirely new characters and New York City as its backdrop.

Here’s the official synopsis:

“New York City is a battlefield. Dark magic rules the underworld. The NYC Department of Magical Law Enforcement (DMLE) is the only line of defense. Hawthorne is the force’s newest recruit and the dark criminals’ latest threat. Plunging into the nightmare that his occupation offers, he makes quick enemies of the most depraved wizard gang in America: the ever violent, ever twisted Hellhounds. AUROR’S TALE chronicles Hawthorne’s tempestuous adventures.”

Aurors Tale needs your help! Robin

I love the internet. I always seem to find the coolest links, photos and videos, but I think this might be my favorite thing ever (okay, considering I have a lot of favorite things, we’ll call it my favorite this week). Some extremely talented Harry Potter fans got together and created their own movie: Auror’s Tale.
Now these are not just some kids with iPhones video’ing poorly constructed scenes from Harry Potter. This is a top-notch well-acted and well-scored original story. The premise is as follows:

Now before J.K. Rowling gets all upset and tries to take this down, I hope you get to see this wonderful trailer for Auror’s Tale. The film will be released as a 10-part episodic web series via its YouTube Channel.

Harry Potter fan film Auror’s Tale, looks amazing! Robin

How’s that for a headline, huh? I get super-excited just reading that. Variety has reported that the film right’s to Stephen King’s upcoming novel 11/22/63 has been sold to Silence of the Lambs director Jonathan Demme.

Demme will write and direct the film adaptation of King’s new book, which is about a Maine high school teacher who travels back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

The book itself is set to hit stores in November 8th.

But wait! There’s more!

It has also been announced that King’s The Stand is returning as a series of feature films, with Harry Potter screenwriter Steve Cloves and Harry Potter director David Yates attached to the project.

When Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 opens on July 7th, fans of the franchise will be able watch the premiere live from London on YouTube.

From 8 to 11 p.m. PST on the Harry Potter YouTube Channel, you will be able to watch the stars of the film, as well as J.K. Rowling, walk the red carpet in preparation of the premiere of the final film in the series. To count down to the big day, the YouTube Channel has also put up all seven films for rent, as well as added behind-the-scenes footage, parody videos and interviews.
