Gail Simone Fired From Batgirl
Gail Simone is the only reason I ever touched Batgirl and now I’m sad to report that Simone is no longer the writer for the title. According to Simone’s Twitter:
On Wednesday of last week, new Batgirl editor Brian Cunningham informed me by email that I was no longer the writer of Batgirl.

She went on to tweet the following:
It is baffling and sad, I will probably have a statement later today or maybe tomorrow.

As to what exactly happened is anyone’s guess, but it’s no secret that the comics industry is not all that favorable towards women. Batgirl was a hit with critics and fans and was seeing good numbers, so WTF?
