Change The Fate Of An Entire World In ‘Omensight’

What’s this? Another game trailer? Yes! It’s that time of the year when game developers start sending out press releases and trailers about titles that gamers can look forward to in 2018. Today’s trailer is Omensight, which caught my eye because its creators are Spearhead Games, who gave us the wonderful Stories: The Path of Destinies in 2016. I loved that game, so I am, obviously, really excited about Spearhead’s next title.

So what’s Omensight about? The idea is that the player is a warrior who exists outside of time and has seen a cruel fate for a world called Urralia. But the player gets to a chance to change Urralia’s fate, perhaps even save it from whatever caused its destruction. The player needs to get to know all of the characters involved in that land’s events, and then make decisions that will affect the final outcome of that world.

“When we released Stories: The Path of Destinies in 2016, we were thrilled with the response to its narrative structure,” Malik Boukhira, Creative Director on Omensight ,said. “Players told us how they enjoyed manipulating time to collect all the different endings in the game. With Omensight, our new original title set in a fresh universe, we’re taking this idea one step further. What we like to call the ‘narrative puzzle’ will extend to a range of diverse characters in Omensight, and we can’t wait to see how players navigate the intricacies of these characters’ actions and reactions to solve the mystery of Urralia’s demise.”

The downside is that the game will only release on the PC (can we get a PS4 version, please?). There is also no set release date: expect it sometime this year, though.
