Sharknado 5 Gets Epic Title And Funny Tagline

Sharknado 5

Who doesn’t love a good Sharknado? With all the craziness going on in the world this year, it only makes sense that the fifth installment of the series lands this summer. Syfy recently released the title for the film, too: Sharknado 5: Global Swarming.

But that’s not all, because Sharknado 5 also has a tagline: “Make America bait again.” Because why not? Actually, the title and tagline comes courtesy of fans: Syfy asked for their best ideas back in April via an interactive bot.

“In Sharknado 5: Global Swarming, the mission gets personal for Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering) and his bionic wife, April (Tara Reid) when their young son gets trapped in a traveling ‘nado and transported all over the world,” Syfy writes in a press release. “From London to Rio, Tokyo, Rome, Amsterdam and beyond, our globetrotting heroes will seek assistance from a highly skilled squad of royals, scholars and Olympians, enlisting famous faces from news, entertainment, and sports in their most epic battle yet.”

But it’s not a Sharknado movie without awesome cameos, so Syfy released its list of celebrities who will appear in the fifth film. Fans can expect to see the following celebrities: Fabio, Olivia Newton-John, Tony Hawk, Clay Aiken, Bret Michaels, Margaret Cho, Charo, Gilbert Gottfried, Al Roker, Kathy Lee Gifford, Hoda Kotb, Greg Louganis, Tom Daly, Gus Kenworthy, Jeff Rossen, Porsha Williams, Tiffany “New York” Pollard, Chris Kattan, Cat Greenleaf, Dan Fogler, Ross Mullan and more.

Cassie Scerbo, Masiela Lusha and Cody Linley will reprieve their roles from previous Sharknado movies.

Don’t miss the worldwide debut of Sharknado 5: Global Swarming on Syfy on August 6.
