‘Doctor Who’ Christmas Special To Appear In Theaters

Although Doctor Who fans really miss seeing new episodes this year, there is still the Christmas episode to look forward to. The BBC recently announced that it will partner again with Fathom Events to bring the Christmas episode of Doctor Who titled “The Return of Doctor Mysterio” to theaters across the U.S.

The big event happens in select theaters on Tuesday, December 27 at 7 p.m. and on Thursday, December 29 at 7 p.m. Not only will fans get to watch the episode on the big screen, but they’ll also get treated with some exclusives, including interviews with Peter Capaldi, Matt Lucas and Steven Moffat.

Tickets for the theatrical showing of “The Return of Doctor Mysterio” go on sale on November 18 on Fathom’s website.

The Return of Doctor Mysterio will be an excellent way for fans to celebrate the holidays in true Whovian style,” said Soumya Sriraman, EVP, Franchise and Digital Enterprises, BBC Worldwide North America.

Doctor Who fans are one of our most dedicated audiences, and we expect they will show up in full force for this holiday special,” said Fathom Events Vice President of Programming Kymberli Frueh. “There’s no better way to enjoy this content than on the big screen and among fellow fans.”

The Doctor Who Christmas special will air on BBC America on Christmas Day.
