Those attending the 2016 PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) West con are in for a real treat. Amy Hennig, who served as the creative director on the first three Uncharted games, will give the opening keynote speech at the event.
Hennig, one of the most influential women in video games, will give the speech on September 2 when PAX West opens to the public. The con will run through September 5 in Seattle, WA at the Washington State Convention Center. It will feature the latest and greatest that video games has to offer.
“Amy’s revolutionary work on the Uncharted series played an immeasurable role in shaping the modern gaming landscape,” Penny Arcade co-founder Jerry Holkins said in a press release. “We’re thrilled PAX West attendees will have the chance to listen to one of gaming’s leading visionaries.”
Hennig spent more than a decade working for Naughty Dog and is the reason that we all know and love the incomparable Nathan Drake, who is easily one of the most recognized characters in video games. Hennig’s current project is with Visceral Games and involves an untitled Star Wars project.
Unfortunately, there’s one caveat: badges are now sold out for the con. That shouldn’t come as a surprise: the PAX cons are some of the most heavily attended in the video gaming industry. Developers, publishers and fans descend upon cities all over the world to share their love for gaming. The next event is PAX Aus, which takes place in Melbourne, Australia on November 4 through 6. Badges for that event are still available at paxaustralia.com.au/
Dates and badges for future PAX events in 2017, including PAX South and PAX East, are not yet available.
For those attending PAX West, a full schedule isn’t available yet, but the organizers promise that one will go up soon on the official PAX West website.
