Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father celebrates its 21st anniversary by releasing a new comic book featuring the first new Gabriel Knight story since 1999.
Okay, so you already know I love Gabriel Knight and that I’m obsessed with those games. But we haven’t really had a new story in, well, over a decade. And that’s just sad because story is key in the Gabriel Knight games.
And although we’d all probably love a new game (I have faith it will come with Sierra Online coming back into gaming), we do have a new story now, in the form of a new comic book featuring a story called “The Temptation.” This is the first new Gabriel Knight story since the last game in the Gabriel Knight series, Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned.
The comic book, which is available www.gabrielknight20th.com, picks up six months after Blood of The Sacred, Blood of the Damned. Gabriel is back in Germany, alone, Grace having gone (boo), trying to figure out what he’s going to do with his life as Schattenjäger. Of course, a new mystery comes along and Gabriel finds himself wrapped up in the next chapter of his life.
“It’s been such a pleasure to work in the Gabriel Knight universe again and write a new story,” says Jane Jensen, creator of the Gabriel Knight series. “I hope there’ll be more stories to tell soon!”
The first chapter of the comic book is available today at www.GabrielKnight20th.com. The next two chapters arrive in January 2015 (yes, they’re free). Also, if you haven’t played it yet, pick up a copy of Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers 20th Anniversary Edition as part of Steam’s Winter Sale for just $16.99.
