SuicideGirls Releases Geekology Book

SuicideGirls GeekologyIn 2001, the internet was introduced to SuicideGirls, a website devoted to alternative beauty. Pin-ups with tattoos and colored hair soon became all the internet rage. The website showed a different side of beauty, one the world hadn’t been exposed to yet, and apparently, one the world wanted because it’s still one of the most successful websites to date.

Now, SuicideGirls has released a book, Geekology, which features stunning photos of these models, who are also geeks. They’re the gamers, comics fans and Trekkies that we can all relate to. And the book is available on the SuicideGirls website, as well as at Amazon and other national retailers.

From the press release:

There’s something truly wonderful about this book. There’s much beauty around the idea of showcasing girl geeks in all their glory: to go beyond the photos and find out that each piece of the picture means something. To find out how many hours put into designing their cosplay and how attentive they are to the homages created. These girls are not just playing dress up in a world they know nothing about. They’re right there with it, helping to build popularity from the ground up: first in line, issue number one. Once a subculture of a subculture, women are now a full force in the geek community.
