Sailor Moon Gets A Release Date, Voice Cast and New Images

New Sailor Moon is on its way: are you ready?

You guys, I cannot tell you how freaking excited I am about new Sailor Moon Crystal. It’s still my all-time favorite anime, and knowing we’ve got new episodes coming as soon as this summer is almost making my head explode. And leading up to the new series, there’s been a lot of announcements made recently, so I’ve done my best to put them all here.

Sailor Moon Crystal Release Date

This is, obviously, the announcement we’ve all been waiting for. Honestly, I never thought we’d actually get a release date and that everything we were hearing were just mean teases. But it’s official. New Sailor Moon debuts July 5, 2014 at 7 p.m. in Japanese time. And guess what? That’s a worldwide release, so we don’t have to wait for episodes here in North America. We’ll get 26 episodes in the first season. And yes, the first storyline will feature Queen Beryl.

Sailor Moon Voice Cast Features A Familiar Name

Next up? Who’s going to be voicing our Sailor Scouts? Well, most importantly, is a voice actress who should be familiar to all Sailor Moon fans: Kotono Mitsuishi. Yep, that’s right, Usagi’s original voice actress is returning to be Sailor Moon all over again! Personally, I’m happy, because no one else has the chops to be Usagi. Joining Mutsuishi are Hisako Kanemoto (Smile Precure) as Sailor Mercury, Rina Satou (Gurren Lagann) as Sailor Mars, Ami Koshimizu (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) as Sailor Jupiter and Shizuka Itou (Jorungand) as Sailor Venus.

But What Will The Sailor Scouts Look Like?

Of course, Sailor Moon is nothing without the art that makes up the anime, right? Fortunately, we’ve been given a sneak peek of the designs for the Sailor Scouts. This time around, the scouts are going to look a lot like their original manga versions.
