Trilobyte Games Announces The 7th Guest 3.
Happy birthday to me! Trilobyte Games announced today that the final game in The 7th Guest trilogy will finally see the light of day. In fact, a new Kickstarter has been unveiled and I urge everyone to donate now. Seriously, what are you waiting for?
The 7th Guest was released way back in 1993 and made such a splash that even Bill Gates called it innovative. There was a sequel, The 11th Hour, back in 1995. Fans of the franchise gave up a long time ago on a third game, so today’s news is major.
“We’ve been waiting to make The 7th Guest 3 for a long time,” said Rob Landeros, co-founder, creative director and CEO of Trilobyte Games. “The team’s in place; new puzzles are in development, and the most notorious villain in all gaming, Henry Stauf, is poised to return and finish the story that begin in The 7th Guest. With the launch of our Kickstarter campaign, we’re turning to our fans and the gaming community to provide the only remaining ingredient, development and production funding.”
in The 7th Guest 3, we return to Stauf’s house to solve puzzles and face nightmares. In doing so, the final secret of Stauf will be revealed. Gameplay will be similar to the point-and-click that fans are already familiar with, but Trilobyte also plans to bring the game’s tech into the new millennium, bringing Stauf’s mansion into high definition. “We are committed to staying true to the spirit of the original 7th Guest,” said Landeros.
“We estimate development and production time of approximately one year to finish this final episode,” said Landeros. “Our team is already working and we’re the kind of studio that delivers on its promises, so be ready.” The game is expected to be available for both PC and Mac.
Kickstarter rewards include some very creative incentives. You can get a portrait or bust of yourself in the mansion, along with an invitation to dine with Stauf himself and a tour of the mansion the game’s setting was based on. How cool is that?
