Being Human Season Finale: Interview with Meaghan Rath and Amy Acquino
Being Human has been quite a ride this season. With just one episode to go, it is anyone’s guess as to how it will all end. However, series star Meaghan Rath (Sally) and guest star Amy Acquino (Donna) gave a few hints in a recent interview.
Rath began by summing up last week’s episode. “Things are coming to a head right now, especially for Sally. She’s made this decision that she’s going to let herself die and decompose. And that does happen. And she’s forced to go through Donna’s door and face her. So there’s a big showdown.”
Acquino talked a little bit about the challenges of portraying the witch Donna this season, including the weirdness of eating sawdust off of the floor, along with Donna’s other odd habits. She, however, was most excited about the transformation to a 200-year-old woman that she went through on last week’s episode. “I was really psyched about it,” Acquino said, “Being able to do this prosthetics – we had these brilliant make-up artists. And we had a very cool time sitting in the basement of those locations in the dead of night. It was very cool.”
Although Donna was supposedly destroyed last week, the end of the last episode left the door wide open (pun intended) for a return for the character. Rath explained, “We might not have seen the last of Donna, which I’m really excited about, because I’d love to work with Amy some more.” No spoilers there, right? Rath continued to tease, this time about tonight’s episode. “Oh, come on. You actually think we would end the season without a cliffhanger?”
So how about a sneak peek? This one doesn’t feature Sally and Donna front and center (although we see how strong Sally is becoming as a ghost), but it does show things with Liam, Aidan, Josh and Nora coming full-circle – it’s not pretty.
Don’t miss the Being Human season finale tonight (Monday) at 9/8c.
