Day Two of Gallifrey One is officially over, but oh, what a day it was. This post, however, will probably be short and sweet, but I promise to elaborate on some very awesome things later.
As most of you are well aware, I’ve been a supporter of (Not) Inspector Spacetime and The Untitled Web Series for quite some time. I even interviewed Inspector Spacetime himself, Travis Richey. However, it was beyond awesome to finally meet him here at Gallifrey One and be able to chat with him a bit. He was such a hit at last year’s con that he was given two hours this year for his panel. And this year, it was standing room only. We got to see the web series as a whole, met the other actors in the series, talked about props (which I’ve also covered here previously) and even discussed costuming. But best of all was a script reading of the first episode of the second season. I’ll be posting an in-depth article later all about Inspector Spacetime, so be looking for that.
Also, I got a peek at Freema Aygeman. That girl is BEAUTIFUL. I mean absolutely stunning. If I didn’t already adore her, I’d hate her. I am hoping to get to her panel tomorrow morning to find out more about her. It is my opinion that Martha, as one of the Doctor’s companions, was always slightly underrated.
Today, though, it was Ben Browder that brought down the house. First, he’s apparently a vampire because he doesn’t age. Even though he appeared before us with his “A Town Called Mercy” Doctor Who episode, he looks exactly the same as he did when he was filming Farscape. Speaking of which… he talked about Farscape quite a bit. He also told some absolutely hilarious stories. I’ll also have more on that later (along with some quotes from Browder himself).
The evening ended with late night karaoke. If you missed my rendition of “Material Girl,” I’m sorry. I’m so sorry (to quote the Doctor). I also received a lot of great compliments on my “The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances” Rose Tyler costume today and even received approval from Chloe Dykstra, the host of Nerdist’s “Just Cos.”
But never fear, once the con is over, I will upload all these fantastic cosplay photos I’ve taken and post them right here. So stay tuned, would-be Gallifreyans – there’s a lot more where this came from.
