American McGee’s Akaneiro: Demon Hunters Game is Official Out Of Beta and Live Today
As you may know, especially if you read this site regularly, I’m a huge fan of American McGee’s work. I’ve also been playing the beta of his latest title Akaneiro: Demon Hunters for about a month now. I even interviewed McGee about the game. So today’s news that the game has officially gone live to the public has me very excited.
Akaneiro: Demon Hunters is McGee’s take on the Little Red Riding Hood story. Of course, as expected, the story has been turned on its head and given a Japanese theme. In the game, you are put in the shoes of Little Red Riding Hood and hunt legendary monsters from Japanese mythology.
The launch of Akaneiro: Demon Hunters includes 20 maps of content with more options, along with Steam integration, on the way. The game is completely free to download and play, but you can unlock all maps for the one-time price of $20. But don’t worry, those maps will eventually unlock throughout gameplay, so if you don’t want to pay for them, you won’t have to.
Also, there’s still time to donate to the Akaneiro: Demon Hunters Kickstarter project. As a backer, you’ll get additional karma to spend in-game, along with a few other awesome goodies.
Ready to play? You can download the PC or Mac launch client right now at the Akaneiro: Demon Hunters website.
