As previously reported, Sin City 2 is well into production now. But recently, it lost one of its key roles, that of Manute, a role created by the recently deceased Michael Clarke Duncan. Fortunately, directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller have found a replacement in Dennis Haysbert (he of State Farm and 24 fame).
About re-casting the role of Manute, Rodriguez said, “Manute is a character that has been part of the heart of the Sin City tales and the late Michael Clarke Duncan beautifully established that role on screen. We could not tell the story of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For without Manute and are thrilled to welcome Dennis Haysbert to the cast.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, intermittent shooting has begun on the film with it going into full-swing after the holidays.
So maybe we’ll actually get to see the sequel to Sin City someday soon.
