From the looks of this new Supernatural teaser for season 8, a whole year has passed before the first episode begins. We already know that Castiel and Dean have been trapped in Purgatory and obviously there’s still a lot more to last year’s storyline that hasn’t been touched upon yet.
I’m going to come out and say it: I was less than thrilled with last season. In fact, I’m starting to think Supernatural, a show I love and will still watch, should have probably ended a few seasons ago. Is it just me or are they completely running out of ideas? The whole heaven vs. hell thing got old, but then things got worse: if I see another Leviathan this season, I may just completely tune out. That was literally the stupidest villain ever.
I miss the show that used to give us urban legends that the brothers would track down. Remember that? Before these all-encompassing storylines got in the way? And I miss the focus on the brothers’ relationship. And don’t get me started on all the character changes Castiel has gone through!
Anyway, here’s the new season trailer. It looks like we’re in for more of the same in season 8. But it does seem like maybe, just maybe, they might be wrapping things up for the show (but I doubt it if the ratings are high).
What do you think? Will you be tuning in for Season 8 of Supernatural in October?
