Amanda Tapping heading to Supernatural

So I’ve previously posted about the eighth season of Supernatural and my hopes for it. And it seems there’s a bit of a bright note in the casting department for the series.

Sanctuary’s and Stargate: SG1’s Amanda Tapping has been cast to play a recurring character, Naomi, in the series. Naomi is a member of a mysterious group of angels that has not yet seen before. Although I’m really not interested in yet more angels, at least we’ll have a character that could be interesting.

So what do you think? Will Tapping be able to help Supernatural this season? I’m sort of not looking forward to it after the last lackluster season and at some point, I think the writers are going to have to just wrap everything up.

As it seems you don’t care for the show anymore – I’m guessing not so much.  I’ve loved the show continuely and got a laugh out of crazy Castiel.

And I totally don’t get the bashing of show runners and whatever other nonsense has been going on among supposed “fans” of the show.  I enjoy the show for the characters not so much the overall story. Which is probably what keeps the show going.  It’s a show that shouldn’t be taken seriously. They obviously don’t take it particularly serious themselves. Considering the exceptionally silly eps they have. It reminds me of the Xena and Hercules shows.  Totally absurd but fun to watch and that’s it. 😛

I thought last season was inherently boring. It wasn’t fun at all and ONLY those Castiel scenes (of which there weren’t enough of) were interesting. It just seems like the show has run out of ideas and keeps rehashing the old ones. I liked it better when it was a different mystery every week without these big storylines that go on from season to season.
