John Barrowman cast for the CW’s Arrow

Doctor Who and Torchwood fans rejoice! Our own Captain Jack Harkness, John Barrowman, has been hired this side of the pond for the CW’s upcoming Arrow series in a recuring role.

The role that Barrowman is playing is somewhat a mystery but according to Entertainment Weekly, he will be portraying an acquaintance of the Queen family.” He will be a well-dressed mysterious wealthy man and is reportedly one of the most prominent figures in Starling City.

I’m a huge fan of Barrowman and am looking forward to seeing much more of him on American television. I’m also assuming this means that Torchwood will not be returning (and let’s face it, the last season – Miracle Day – fell flat on its face in most of fans’ eyes).

There were way too many filler episodes and they stretched out the story too long. But most of all, there were no aliens. Torchwood was set up to protect the earth from an alien threat. That was sort of the point of the whole show. And if you compare Miracle Day to Children of Earth, which was brilliant, it doesn’t really compare.

I’m not saying I hated Miracle Day, but it wasn’t nearly as good as the seasons that preceded it. The ratings on STARZ were pretty bad, as well.

Yay. He is like the funniest, sexiest man alive (Other than my husband of course 🙂 and I do not care if he’s gay. I still think he’s so beyond HAWT. And when he speaks with a Scottish accent I just melt 🙂 He’s so freaking hilarious. I don’t normally go for a pretty boy type of thing at all but there’s just something about him…

     Just when I thought this
cast couldn’t get any better, they go and add the handsome John Barrowman! I am
more excited than ever! The ladies from my office at Dish and I were already
swooning over Stephen Amell as the main character, so they are going to die
when I tell them about Barrowman! I hope Arrow doesn’t disappoint because my
expectations are soaring. It is definitely at the top of my jam-packed list of
shows to watch this fall. Can you believe how many new series are upon us? It’s
lucky that I have my Hopper DVR’s huge amount of recording space on my side to
    make sure I don’t miss a thing. I can’t wait!
