It’s been a long road to get here, but the sequel to 2005’s Sin City is finally officially going to happen. Last week, co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller announced that production is set to begin on the second movie. It’s about time!
According to Miller, “The first Sin City knocked out audiences who had never seen anything like it before. Robert Rodriguez and I are going to shake things up and deliver a ferocious film experience that is going to go even further than the first.”
The new film’s title will be Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and will be based on the second volume of Miller’s Dark Horse comic series. The sequel will follow the format of the original with a screenplay by Miller and William Monohan (The Departed).
Production is expected to begin on the film this summer at Rodriguez’s studio in Austin, Texas.
