This should have been the trailer for Disney’s John Carter

I’m convinced that Disney decided early on that John Carter (which would have been better as John Carter of Mars) would be nothing more than a huge tax write-off for their movie studio division. How else can you explain the horrible trailers that were released (along with some pretty poor marketing, too).

But there were some people (like myself) who ignored Disney and saw the film anyway. And it turned out to be pretty darn good.

So if you have not seen the film, maybe this trailer could peak your interest. Because THIS is the movie preview we should have been given and serves as a far better explanation of what the film is about. And obviously, like all awesome things, it’s fan made:

I have to agree with you there.  Sometimes Disney is like other big companies that fail to know how to properly market their products.  This was actually a really good movie, but during the first 10-15 minutes of the movie I was totally confused about the movie due to watching the trailers that were produced.

I agree – the trailer almost kept me from seeing the movie at all, but a friend insisted I would like it (he was right). I just don’t know how Disney could have let the ball drop so badly on this one.

Awww, thanks! And yeah. you nailed it. I was totally bored when I made this. Actually, I think I saw a TV spot for John Carter that was like 15 seconds of him fighting the White Ape to some kind of dubstep. It pissed me off, so I made this.
