New James Bond movie in the works: “Skyfall”

All the speculation is finally over and it has been announced that we’re getting a new James Bond film. And yes, Daniel Craig is returning to the iconic role. The rumors about re-casting the film that have been milling about the internet are, fortunately, untrue.

In a London press conference, the film’s title (“Skyfall”) was released and we were given some more information about the film to be directed by Sam Mendes.

In addition to Craig, also returning to the franchise will be Dame Judi Dench. Other actors attached to the movie include Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes and Albert Finney. Not a bad line-up, huh?

We’ll also see a little bit more of M’s back story:

““In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”

Look for “Skyfall” in theatres around October, 2012. Let’s hope this one is better than “Quantum of Solace.” With Mendes at the helm, though, I think we’re in for a real treat.

A third movie has been in the works for ages – there were business issues getting in the way I believe? I totally lost track of it there for a while – in the mean time Blood Stone was released (with Craig as Bond) which was a nice surprise….

Earlier this year, though, they were talking about re-casting the movie and I was like “NOOO!” I like Daniel Craig. He’s a good Bond!
