I love the news coming from of Hulu this week. Three new shows will be airing exclusively on Hulu and Hulu Plus this summer. This comes as great news to me, because I was considering cancelling my Hulu Plus membership until summer was over, because, let’s face it, there’s nothing on in the summer. Now, well, there is. And all three new shows sound pretty interesting.
Misfits is a British comedy-drama series about a group of young offenders forced to work in a community service programme, where they attain supernatural powers after a strange electrical storm. It begins airing on June 20.
The Booth at the End is a web series, directed by Jessica Landaw, written by Christopher Kubasik and stars Xander Berkeley and Kate Maberly with one episode released daily. The series asks one question: “How far would you go to get what you want?” It begins airing on Hulu on July 11.
Whites is a British comedy series about an executive chef at a country house hotel. It begins airing on July 20.
Considering that the first two series are science fiction means that Hulu is giving networks like BBCAmerica and SyFy a run for the money. And good for Hulu! Both of those networks royally suck when it comes to offering online content in a timely manner.
