This came in tonight and I have to admit, it made me a little weepy. But it’s definitely a reminder of how special Doctor Who fans really are! Thanks so much, Sarah! – Robin
This is in response to My Doctor is a Perfect 10.
I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your experience. I started watching Doctor Who in ’08, during a very rough time — my parents were getting a divorce after my father attempted suicide, my brother was enlisting, and I was trying to wrap my head around the idea of comforting the girl that my father was having an affair with.
The Doctor — David Tennant’s doctor — saved me, too. We both have framed postcards in our offices of the Tenth doctor, granted mine isnt autographed.
And we both impulsively bought tickets to see him in a Shakespeare play in the UK! I still don’t know where I’ll get the money, but they’re closing night tickets that I got the first day they were sold. Thank goodness for facebook’s anglophile!
It made me a little teary eyed, reading your post. And I’m so glad that the Doctor could be there for both of us, with his cheeky grin, and his “weellllllll,” and his fabulous, fabulous hair.
Most of all, we’re probably both grateful for his pure joy at being alive – taking nothing, even edible ball-bearings – for granted. I hope you live that way now, too.
Thank you, Doctor. :o)
