In a press release released by the BBC today, it has been announced that Matt Smith will be turning in his sonic screwdriver at the end of this season’s Doctor Who.
But never fear, for, it was also announced that the new Doctor will be portrayed by not one, but two of Britain’s most esteemed actors. As the new Doctor will be suffering from multiple personality syndrome, he will actually be two characters, instead of just one.
The first personality of the Doctor will be an egotistical thief and con artist and will be played by none other than England’s own Robert Downey, Jr. Downey has reportedly been interested in playing the Doctor for some time and was quoted as saying: “I can’t wait to get my hands on that TARDIS.”
However, not much is known about the second personality of the Doctor, but we have heard rumors that he will be portrayed by comedian and actor Eddie Izzard. Izzard is neither confirming nor denying these rumors.
As for companions, Amy Pond will be going away with the 11th Doctor, leaving Rory behind to pick up the pieces of his broken heart. Fortunately, Billie Piper’s Rose Tyler will once more be accompanying the Doctor(s) and Rory and will show all three of her new traveling mates why blondes have more fun.
