I have to give a shout-out to a video game that not a lot of people have really talked about. It’s called Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. and it’s AWESOME. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this game, but after reading a review on IGN, I was curious enough to put it in my Gamefly Queue. And obviously, I am so glad I did.
This game takes place in what I believe to be a future post-apocalyptic Earth and revolves around a character known as Monkey, who has been captured by slavers and has escaped. Unfortunately, Monkey wakes up from this ordeal with a slave band around his forehead and a young girl, Trip, demanding that he take her to her home, as she had just escaped from the slavers. Monkey has to comply and soon discovers that because of the slave band around his head, if his captor suffers, so does he. If he dies, so does she. So this unique game revolves around not only protecting Monkey, but his captor, as well.
The gameplay is fun, with a few puzzles to sort out, and lots of jumping and climbing (which I have previously mentioned that I love).
Not a popularly-known game, but one well worth playing. Also, look for the Andy Serkis cameo towards the end of the game (he also voices the character of Monkey). Major win.
