10 reasons console gaming is better than PC gaming

I love my XBox 360. It is one of the best things I have ever bought for myself. I also have a PC, but my XBox 360 is my entertainment hub, the thing I use not only for movies and television, but also for gaming. MOSTLY for gaming.

So why does my PC collect dust when it comes to video games?

It’s an argument I’ve had with many a friend of mine. They’re like “Oh, you should play so-and-so game on the PC. It’s SO much better.” So in case my friends are reading this (and many of you are), here’s why I’ll play that game on the console or not at all:

1. PC games rarely run perfectly out of the box. There are always settings to tweak and drivers to install and other such nonsense. When I put a game in the console, the most that might happen is that the game is updated, but I’m playing quickly without having to edit or tweak a thing.

2. I keep getting told that PC games look better and have better graphics. I don’t think so. That same game I’m playing on the XBox probably looks better on my HDTV than your computer monitor (although many of us do have our HDTV’s hooked up to our PC’s). But graphics-wise, I do not think there’s that big of a difference.

3. Console games run smoother for longer periods of time. Yes, there are occasional hiccups, and the occasional dragon flying backwards (Skyrim, I’m looking at you), but for the most part, you don’t get the blue screen of death that you often can see in the middle of a PC game. And there’s never any lag. I’ve seen first-rate PC’s running games and still have noticeable lag.

4. Better controls. PC gamers would argue this on me. But I’d rather have a controller that fits nicely in my hand than a mouse and keyboard. I feel that it’s much more accurate when moving in a 360-degree environment. And it feels better in-hand. I’ve developed carpal tunnel symptoms due to PC gaming, but never with the XBox controller. I also prefer button mashing to key mashing.

5. Game rentals. You can’t rent a PC game. Nor can you buy one used. This is a money-saver when you like to game a lot, like I do.

6. Comfort. I like to sit in my chaise lounge chair, legs splattered out, watching the game on the HDTV. I do not like sitting at a computer desk. Or looking down at a laptop (which makes my neck hurt after awhile). Yes, I know, this doesn’t apply as much to computer gamers who hook everything up to their TV and play with wireless keyboards and mice, but it’s still more comfortable with a controller. Especially if, like me, you spend all day at work on the computer.

7. Less Cheats. With PC gaming, there’s always a cheat available and a way to hack the game. Not so with console games. You’re stuck playing the game the way it was intended. It forces you to do so. Having played Dragon Age with cheats on the PC and without on the XBox, there’s really no comparison. I cheated myself by playing it on the PC, and in result, missed some key game elements.

8. Achievements. You get achievements with console gaming. Those are kinda’ cool.

9. One size fits all. You don’t have to upgrade your console to play games that are coming out for that particular console. Most newer computer games require newer and faster systems to run decently.

10. Cost. Purchasing a brand new XBox or PS3 is still cheaper than upgrading a computer to play high-end games or buying a new system.

So let’s have it, PC gamers. Tell me why you prefer PC over console. I promise you I won’t be swayed, but I am interested in your opinion, too.

Graphics, better on my pc. It may not be a huge difference but to me it is noticeable. I can easily make the comparison since both my (mom’s) Xbox and my computer are connected to the same HD TV. So far the only games I’ve gotten for the Xbox are ones not available for PC (I even waited the extra month for Arkham City to get it for the PC, though it had a extended story line with Catwoman that was also a factor LOL)

Controls? Any game available for XBox and PC I can use an xbox controller for on my pc. (lucked out and got the receiver cheap on clearance, they are hard to find these days and expensive if you do.)

However I grew up playing video games on my computer so playing a shooter with a controller is really difficult for me, but I found a game like Batman:Arkham Asylum and it’s sequel is much easier with the controller because of the combo-actions.

Cheats: Cheats are intended for post initial game play. Also there are console game cheat codes, I’ve seen them. And I don’t use cheats anyway till after that first game play for silliness.

As for running right out of the box – this isn’t true. I’ve put xbox disks in many times and had to wait for it to download an update! LOL Then there is when they decide to redo the entire interface.

I think each option has it’s upsides and downsides and on the PC side it really has a lot to do with your personal machine, esp in a realm where people put their own together. (Like me) Mine was purpose built.

So it comes down to what you prefer. I like the customization that having my games on a computer gives me. I love that I have the mouse and keyboard (You try “typing” on your xbox! lol)

Also PC games always are at least 10 bucks cheaper then Xbox games. (Which is usually a big deciding factor for me.)

  But remember, I don’t pay for XBox games – I rent, which is something you can’t do with PC games. But as you said you grew up playing PC games, I grew up playing console games, so maybe that has something to do with preference.

1) That might be true if you have no idea what you’re doing. I rarely have issues with this (in fact I have issues with this more with my xbox sometimes AHEM UPDATES)

2) This might be true if graphics aren’t of utmost importance; the average person won’t notice them, but trust from someone playing both console and PC that there are some differences.

3) This just makes no sense to me. No lag? I’ve gotten more lag playing on the console. I find that alot of people not interested in computer/network tech have slower connections and consoles, thus, more lag playing online with console gamers vs. PC nerds. Not to mention installed games and digital downloads don’t get scratches or degrade as quickly as physical media. I haven’t had a PC game crash on me as often as with my master-of-no-good-heat-sinks Xbox.

4) Maybe some prefer the controller, but can console gamers say they can have as great a variety of preferred controls as a PC gamer? Absolutely not, unless you like paying ALOT for shoddy, third party driving wheels and HOTAS setups.

5) Granted, there’s an advantage here but you should consider the sheer numbers of cheap, downloadable and FUN games that can be found on the PC versus the handful of good XBLA and one or two bearable XBLIG games in existence. Not to mention the huge number of excellent freeware and free-to-play games that you just can’t enjoy on a console. So while renting may be cheap, free gaming and not having to fret over backwards compatibility is a big advantage in my book.

6) You can use a controller with a PC home theatre setup. -sigh- Heck this brings me back to point four: you can use a huge variety of control setups. You’re not limited to a controller.

7) Have you even played Red Dead Redemption lately? lol.

9) Yeah until you realize that you most likely have to sacrifice the several hundreds of dollars it took buying peripherals, subscription services, and games that won’t be backwards compatible with whatever new system comes out later on. There goes alot of money down the drain to pay for a new system which, guaranteed, will have a rocky start due to poor launch titles, hardware failures, and ridiculous prices.

10) I think this is the only point I can give a pass to. Long term, yes, PCs are more expensive and not as easy to fool with as consoles, but I think it’s a fair sacrifice for the sheer volumes of games, programs, and services available on a PC as opposed to a console, alot of which are free.

1. This is the minority – just the same as there are a few 360 games that need to be patched almost right off the bat before they’re playable.

2. This.. isn’t a point as to why console gaming would be better. It’s assuming that most people with a PC gaming rig don’t have a high definition display or the ability to hook up to their television which is more often times than not the case. Even if so, this point just makes 360 on par with the PC in your eyes.

3. I’ve owned a 360 and I’ve owned a PS3 in the past for considerable amounts of time. To say that there isn’t lag is.. well misinformed? There are glitches upon glitches in games whether they be for PC or 360 or PS3 that’s just well, fact. And since I’ve been PC gaming I’ve noticed improvements on framerate, etc. for games such as Saint’s Row The Third. I don’t know what kind of computer you’ve been using but it doesn’t sound up to snuff.

4. My wired 360 controller plugs into my computer and works perfectly. There are adapters for just about every console controller out there – so this point is moot. Next.

5. I’ve bought tons upon tons of games on Steam less than the rental price of the local stores around here – who can’t guarantee selection in the least. Not to mention the Humble Bundles are available to me as a PC gamer, which means 5 dollars or so towards charity gets me between 5-7 games. That I own.

6. Moot again with how often these days people use their computers with their televisions or just have nice displays overall. And once again with the controllers.

7. Why does something optional make anything better? It doesn’t. This is a cop out.

8. A lot of games that I play have some form of achievement system. Online games do it now quite a lot on sites such as Newgrounds or Kongregate and Steam has Steam Achievements as well.

9. This is a fallacy believed by people who don’t put the money in right off the bat (or who don’t shop smart) but if you do buy the wrong rig then yeah, it’s going to be a pain in the ass. Buying a console for this reason is for those seriously on a budget or not willing to put the work in. I was in both camps for a while but I picked up a machine for 800 dollars that blows my 360 out of the water.

10. That depends in all honesty with sites like tigerdirect out there and just what kind of parts your system needs. Start out with a good chipset and RAM and all you really have to worry about is a video card which is WAY less than a new 360/PS3 in most cases.

  I just bought a new high-end PC and still prefer console gaming. I think my issue is that I already spend all day working on my PC (I work from home), so I really don’t want to spend my leisure time on it, as well.
  
  As far as rentals go, I was thinking more in terms of a service like Gamefly, which has saved me a TON of money on games.

The graphics are much better. Seeing that your a console fan boy I can sense you haven’t played on a good rig recently or at all. Youtube does not count as experience. You can have resolutions, better tessellation and anti-aliasing and better lighting and shaders. And as the xbox/ps3 age they keep getting worse as pc is constantly improving. In 6 years of gaming I have never gotten a blue screen. But on console I get freezes 1-3 times a week. I have also noticed horrible lag in games on console. Take gta5. When you through rpgs helicopters and explosions its impossible to play. And that’s what gta is about. Another game Skyrim. When 3 dragons and a town is after I notice some unnerving lag. Argument four. Game Rentals. I can rent PC games?
Argument six. Cheating: Cheating or modding can add to the value of a game. Once I’ve played through a game and seen all that there is to see in vanilla some new mods or cheats adds so many hours of game play. Argument seven. Achievements. Really? Did you just run out of things to say. Besides PC has achievements. “Steam” Argument eight. Cost. Constantly updating is not the case. I’ve had my computer for 5-6 years before I finally need a better graphics card which is like 200$ for a good one. A new gen console is probably going to be in the 600-700$ range.
I just got rid of most of your reasons and the others I just don’t give a damn.

  First, I’m not a fan boy, but a fan girl – hence the name of the site. Also, as pointed out, these are MY personal reasons. I have many friends who prefer PC gaming over console gaming. But I wanted to state why I feel the opposite.
  
  I did just recently upgrade to a bigger and better PC and although games do tend to run smoother, I still prefer my XBox.

Graphics are WAY better on pc! Put on Battlefield 3 on PS3 or Xbox and put beside it, a high end pc playing Battlefield 3 right now. If you can’t see the enormous difference in both graphics quality and frame rate then you should seek medical help immediately. Have you seen Mass effect 2 on ps3? that runs at like 20-25 fps, almost unplayable as opposed to a good pc will easily run that game at 60. Please get your facts right.

  Actually, it depends on the PC, so get your facts straight. You need a good high-end PC with a good high-end graphics card to get those sort of graphics.

    Incorrect little lady a 400$ gaming machine could max battle field 3 out :/ it all depends on your resolution I garuntee you that a 144×900 resolution gaming machine or maybe even 1600×900 gaming machine (that’s 900P by the way) would not only cost you around the same price but last atleast 10years 5+ years of maxing games out then 5 years of running games on musim to high quality even my seven year old gaming PC runs battle field 3 at medium to high detail at 1080P a seven year old PC it all depends on your resolution if you want 720P (aka the highest resolution console games play at) then you’ll be gaming at 720P for the next 7 years at maximum detail maybe longer resolution is what its about its only expensive if you want pure 1080P or higher with bleeding edge (aka the best of the best also known as top of the line) technology

1) Ok, i have to install games and drivers. It takes 5seconds.
2) Compare skyrim and crysis on both pc and console, then come back.
3) If we would all drive the same car, traffic would be better too. But i like to have a car that fits my likings/money
4) Analog stick is better for some games. But for fps and strategy games, mouse dominates in speed and precision. You could also connect controller to pc.
5) Rentals. They are working on it.

9) who said you need to upgrade you pc? Just tone down the settings. Pc settings on low is still better than console graphics.
Btw, my pc i bought over 2 years ago. Not top, just above average. Still runs every game at max settings. (expect for some insane 16x AA which nobody notices)
10) if you add everything into the equation, pc is cheaper. The fact console games are more expensive both on and after release. (you are forced to sell/ rent games) I like to keep mine for nostalgic purposes. The fact you Need a computer for work. You also will buy a newer version of the console when it comes out. Pc you van upgrade whenever you want.

1. Older Pc games are the only games I see that “rarely run perfectly…” and that is expected as Windows 7 is nothing like XP is nothing like 98 etc. Anything new works just fine

2. Moot Point. Your XBox cannot run games at 1600p, which DOES look better than, what? 1080P at the most? Not only that. But consoles often have reduced graphics or reduced player size or reduced area size because they can’t handle what the PC counterpart easily can.

3. Ill take an occasional BSOD over a permanent RROD or YLOD, seeing as I haven’t gotten a BSOD in about 2.5 years. Also, EVERY person I know in real life who is a console gamer uses the built in wifi. I use a wired connection which is more dependable and less laggy than wireless. I won’t even go into (in general) more networking knowledge.

5.You cannot rent PC games. You can, however, buy them between 5-95% off with STEAM sales all from e comfort of your computer. I bought 70 dollars worth of software this week for 17 dollars. That’s more than buying used games saves. Plus, used games hurt developers. They see no money from the resale. Shame on you.

7 Less cheats? I’m not so sure. With accounts like steam accounts the ban you across all games (and not just a gamertag) there is little cheating. (At least, no more than on other platforms.) That is too much money to throw away. Unless you mean botting in MMO’s and stuff. Which consoles do not have to begin with.

10. And it should cost more. Just like a firrari costs more than a Focus. You are doing the same thing, it’s just one is sexier, faster, and overall better than the other. There is a big upfront cost to PC gaming but it is worth it. The software is much cheaper than buying secondhand, the games look better, and the communities are more vast. Modding brings life that DLC cannot. Shooters have more players in them and bigger maps. There are MMO’s. More customization.

I am almost certain that in the span of time the 360 and PS3 have been out, that I have spent LESS on gaming than someone who bought and games on those platforms. And if it isn’t less, it’s DEFINITELY less than $100. $100 is not steep. I will happily pay an extra 100 dollars for a more enjoyable gaming experience.

Hell, you are going to buy a computer anyways…that’s going to be between 300-500 dollars. So, spend the 300 you would for the console and maybe another $200 out of pocket and build a nice gaming rig for ~800-$1000. You will easily make up for the $200 for not having to pay for XBL as well as buying cheaper games.

Matter of fact is, that consoles cannot be powerfull and cheap at the same time. And what we hear a lot from consolists, that they are fine with how the game looks and we should stick with that, that is a nonsense. It is like saying that we will stick with a stagecoach, because we really do not need a steam engine. History proved this approach wrong on many occasions. Current consoles are using hardware that is 5 to 7 years old and their build design is even olderm up to 10 years. They rely on obsolete DX 9 standard, that has been upgraded twice since that time. In short, current consoles, having roughly half og maning market, bottleneck and slow down innovations and progress in gaming industry.
So called points why are consoles better are invalid most of the time.
1) PC games run almost every time perfectly out of the box. Only during GPU generations switches you may need to upgrade display drivers two or three times a year, but then it is pretty much stable and you do not need to bother about that. But hey, choice is there. I think that what consolists are saying is pretty stupid. They keep saying that they need not to update drivers. But by updating drivers on PC, you actually get better fps results every time. Many consolists would be surprised if somebody would update their display drivers and see much better results. Settings in game, again, are there for gamers convenience. If you consider a wider offer on the card the bad thing, then it only shows how short-minded consolists are. When I read complains about installation and updating of games as a point in the discussion, I have the feeling how hopeless can someone be. If seriously somebody has a problem with selecting installation folder in completely clear and user friendly installation window, not to mention that many times there is so called Express settings available for lazy people, then this person is deemed to die in our current world, that is basically run on computers. Being a PC grammar is a utmost basic skill in these days and putting absence of it as a point for playing on consoles is…. just stupid. And in these days, you are not even asked for this installation and patching stuff anymore, services like Steam do all of that for you. Buying, installing and playing the game is just a matter of one mouse click and downloading the content to harddrive. With cheap 1Gb network card or wireless card suporting current 802.11n standard, 25GB game from Steam is downloaded as fast as in 20 – 25 minutes, including installation. And next time you just play instanty and Steam patches game for you without you even knowing it.
2) PC games looks way better, if they are properly made. As I mentioned before, consoles are bottleneck of current game industry. Making a stagecoach and then adding the steam engine into it rarely works well. It is still limited by other factors then just the power unit. So the games that are ported from consoled to PC are suffering this fate, operating only on obsolete DX 9 standard. The still look better, because of support of higher resolution then 720p/1080p and having the comfort of anti-aliasing, textures filtering and stuff, but not that much. If the game is made for DX 11 and then downgraded to DX 9 and ported to consoles, the difference is striking. Field of depth, motion blur, particle effects, sun god rays, tessalation, PhysX engine eye candies. When you see it on two screens next to each other, you instantly know how stupid had people in underdeveloped countries looked in 19th century, when gunboat of industrial power made it to their port.
3) There is no evidence besides rumors and urban myth what platform is more stable, so your point is not valid. Consoles have their BSODs as well. If you do not tweak and overclock PC, you play without any BSOD for majority of the time.
4) At this point you are completely wrong. It is not the case what controller is better at any given time, it is the case what controller is better for game you play. Trying to navigate FPS (or third person shooter) with gamepad is as much silly as navigating console arcade with keyboard. In some games analog gamepad is not and cannot be better then mouse and keyboard, in some games gamepad really shines. I have mouse, keyboard, gamepad and joystick connected to my PC and I use it as I see it suits to me best, how about your mouse in console? Why you console people even think that gamepad is console exclusive controller? And regarding that much better orientation and movement in 360 degrees environment… I played Red Dead Redemption and besides it looked really outdated on TV screen, controlling it, movement and camera, it was horrible. In FPS games, WSAD and mouse look and shoot is light years better. In games like Flatout or Darksiders, I find gamepad controlling more favourable.
5) First half valid point. You cannot rent a game for PC. But if you buy one in box version, you can usually sell it away. There are limitations to some exclusive content that may be locked on first usage, but that is the case of console gaming as well and generally that is a bad approach towards gamers. So why is it a half valid point only? Maybe you never ever heart about Steam, but dude, they have annual summer/winter sales, where games go as much as 95% off its regular price. And then you have regular midweek madness where there are games on sale every week in Tuesday to Thursday period. And then, we have games completely for free. You can argue about quality of these games, but hell, even tripple A title like Team Fortress 2 is now F2P. I buy games a lot in these sales, sometimes brand new titles for 20 – 25 USD, sometimes older games for 5 – 10 USD. Is that more expensive then you second hand sale? I do not think so.
6) This is really stupid point. It is like saying that your car is better, because you have a hydraulic hever in your garage. Why consolists assume almost all the time, that PC gamers do not play on TV? And why the hell you always mention it is HDTV. Are you aware that LCD flat panel screens have much better resolution then your HDTVs by now? It looks awefull to see large pixelised picture coming from console on large screen anyway, as there is no AA and AF support on consoles. I myself take the luxury of playing on large TV, using wireless controlers and wirelss headset, from my leather sofa, when I have the mood. Other times I sit in my comfortable leather manager chair and play at my desk. So what?
7) In online gaming, cheating is almost non-existent while playing in MMO’s or FPS using either Punkbuster or VAC2 technology. Consolists have their secret gamepad combinations, we have trainers. So, what again?
8) You probably really never heart about Steam. And besides, I do not need game to tell me how awesome I am, when I already know it.
9) This is a pointless point. As discussed before, consoles are terribly, horribly, awefully slow, outdated and cumbesome these days. They use prehistoric hardware and as such you do not need to upgrade it, since developers know how slow consoles are and tailor games for it. That fact is slowing advancements in game technologies and should be deemed as a shamefull one. If your argument is to why to have a crystal clear textures, realistic water, physical engine and all that stuff, when you can do with bad low res textures, static environment and short visual distance, then it only shows that you tend to disregard the improvements of technologies. I do not like dwelling in the past, in the dark, I adore technological achievements and progress.
10) PC can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be. At this stage of current consoles life cycle, you can buy a PC at same costs as console and it will be moderatelly better. If you can thow few thousands dollars into it, you will get machine that eats any console for a breakfest anytime.
Console is just that, dedicated gaming PC, without universality of proper full size PC. I am not saying you are bad that you play on consoles, or that I am better playing on PC, I am saying that most of the points you posted are completely out of the scope.

  I have Steam. It would barely run on my last PC. If you don’t have the right system for PC games, you’re screwed. For a good gaming experience, you still have to spend serious $$$ on a PC.

I’m with you Robin, my wife and I actually have this debate a bit, she loves PC, I play nothing but my xbox. much like yourself though, I work on a computer all day long and don’t want to be on one at home after work. Thinking about the computer just makes me think work.
I’m also thinking it’s what you grew up with, I grew up with 4 brothers, nothing but consoles, and only one comp in the house used for work by parents (hence we couldn’t touch it)
it’s hard to relate PC gaming to good graphics when the most widespread graphics for PC belong to the most played game: World of Warcraft, and let’s face it, though they’ve upgraded it a little xbox graphics are at the very least marketed better and more well known.
Fact is that all games have issues, I’ve not met a pc gamer that doesn’t curse due to a crash, or network issue, but ya know, I’ve heard the same from every console gamer as well. (enter red light of doom)
the PC gamers will keep on stating that their 2000$ (total cost) PC has better graphics, which it does; if you find games to fit your hardware, software, and update all drivers each time it’s patched (even possibly 1200$ these days as PC prices continue to drop due to lower sale rates. yes pc sales are declining over the years primarily due to introduction of smart phones, but that’s another topic entirely)
and us console gamers who don’t like add-on’s, mod’s, hackers, and not to mention mal-ware, spyware, and everything else that can be posted to the PC will simply stick with the 400$ and 15$ a month for a thousand different online game system that does pretty much the same thing minus those inconveniences, and with a whole lot more options for games under one subscription.
Consoles are quite a bit cheaper over all in my experience, especially after having to purchase two “gaming” pc’s for my wife, they will always run over 1000$ for the set up. (and yes that was for a home built one, with purchasing the parts off of websites to look for less cash spent)

I understand this is all a matter of preference but as I said before ignorance (the lack of knoledge on this particular subject) you talk about game rentals graphics etc all your points become invalid when you say you can’t rent it on a PC because you use game fly (which offers a pc direct download service for renting pc games)

This entire article, if you can call it that , was written by a pc noob. You probably bought your
machine at Best buy, barely played anything other than sims on it. Your “facts” , if I may
use the term so loosely, have been disproved already dozens of times. But, what the hell. I might
ast well chime in.
1. Pc games run perfectly out of the box. The only reason you’d experience some problems is
if, and in your case I suspect, you purchased a game and didn’t read the requirements.
Myth 1, EXPOSED.
2. Pc can run games at better graphics than xbox, period. This is fact, it is not disputable.
Your baseless opinion has zero weight, because when it is stacked against the facts, it fails.
Pc can run higher textures, better frame rates and better resolutions than console. Period.
Myth 2, EXPOSED.
3. Yet another opinion masking itself as fact. Games are supported long on pc that console.
One need only look at counterstrike, Halflife, Half life 2, ect to prove this. And when official
support ends, the community takes over with its own servers and mods to keep the game going.

4.Nothing proves your complete and total ignorance this reason here. Lets just see all the
controls on the pc. For fps games, rts and mmo’s I use a keyboard and mouse, for games like
skyrim I prefer a wireless xbox 360 controller (OMG!Yes, they work on pc too), for racing
games I use a racing wheel and for flight sims a control stick. You=OWNED.

5. Game rentals? Obviously you missed the unlimited pc play on gamefly’s website. Forgetting that,
pc gamers check out their games by playing and participating in the alpha and beta trials of a game.
Which is something you kiddies are just getting access to. Also, with AAA free to play titles on
pc, who needs to rent something when the game is free?

9. One size fits all , can’t upgrade and easily outdated. I’m sure that’s a win, if you like old
hardware and games dumbdown so you can play them.

10. Cost. Lets look at that. Baseline xbox is 299. You get one controller and one crappy
headset. Another controller will be 49.99 for wireless. All your games are 59.99 new or 29.99 used.
You buy an xbox a controller and 4 games new you are spending 411 dollars. You’ll end up spending
more than a pc by the end of the year, depending on how many games you buy. I can buy twice the amount
of games and spend less on steam or play amazing free to play games you can’t get to on the console.
This one I’ll leave to personal choice. The rest of your “argument” is half assand poorly
researched. You have been owned. Enjoy that butthurt feeling while it lasts.

Now to get into why I prefer pc gaming.To preface this, I have owned EVERY console made.
I’ve owned the nes, snes, gamecube, n64, ps 1, ps2, ps3, xbox, xbox 360 and sega genisis, sega dreamcast.
My roots in console gaming are deep. But, after being fed up with hardware limits and such
I switched to pc gaming, and now I won’t go back. I like the freedom of the pc. I can run whatever hardware
and software I want. I use whatever controls I want. I can buy games and run mods from the mod community to change the game to suit my needs. There is a freedom you don’t get with console and with that freedom comes responsibility. I am my own tech support. If I run a mod that crashes a game I have only myself to blame for it and have to fix it. If I download a mod from a source I haven’t verified and end up with a virus, it is up to me to remove it. There is no passing the buck to someone else. I think that’s the part that scares many console gamers away from pc ownership.
